Your very welcome Neil. I love the bike by the way. My first bike was a Triumph,,,,,,a Triumph 200cc Tiger Cub, when I was fifteen, and then a few different bikes afterwards, then I changed to cars, bad move, should have stuck to bikes.

In response to Ian, have found one more pic of the yacht. I've been in touch with my Dad to see if he has any more. If he has, I'll post on a new thread.

That's me in the pic!

Humble apologies to Neil for invading his thread, I'll post any more separately.

No need to appologise Howard, you`re more than Welcome. BAZ, regarding your bikes, why not go to your nearest Triumph dealer and check out the new Bonneville range?. The Blue missile on the right is going to have to go soon, as SWMBO won`t go on the back. She did once, but it gave her cronic back ache for the rest of the day, but i road tested a new Bonnie on which she came on the back of, and loved it, so i`m looking to by one, possibly later on this year, but it depends on the money situation. Go on Baz, go and test one?, you know you want to :naughty: :naughty: . Then we can form a forum hairy bikers club, though not in my case   . Regards to all....................Neil.

Hiya Neil,If only you knew. Just a year or so ago, I had a bee in my bonnet about getting the old Bonny T120 of about 1964/5. I looked everywhere without any luck, and in the course of looking, I obviously went into a few bike shops, and yes, you've guessed it, looked at all sorts, and in their desperation to sell me a bike, I was even offered a brand new Suzi Bandit 600 for the grand total of just £5 under £4K. I was tempted, but remained loyal to my Triumphs, but unfortunately, still no bike. My missus reckons I'm silly at my age, maybe she's right eh. The one bike I was impressed with was a just out of the crate, a Honda Fireblade, this fitted like a glove, but at nearly £10K, was way out of reach. I reckon my bike riding days are over Neil, although occasionally, I do have a go on my mates bikes, a bit frightening really, the R1 nearly left me behind on the road, and the 1200 Bandit felt very heavy, but after all said and done, I still have my dreams, ah well. Take it easy eh.

My brand new Ariel Golden Arrow 250 Sports, in 1964, I was 16, and and do you know Neil, just last year, the very same bike passed me outside my own home. I was just coming in when he rode past the other way, I was going to chase him for a chat, but couldn't get the car off the drive in time, never seen him since.

I've only just had the chance to go through this thread - some wonderful photos Neil. Thank you for taking the time to scan and share them on here. :clap

I think the photo at the top of the previous page is Bramerton by the way. Look forward to seeing more.

Hi,

NorfolkNog thanks for the extra picture.

The yacht in the picture is so close to looking like Tamara or one of her sisters that I thought it might have been her as she was still in hire up to 1954. However here is a page from the 1950 Blakes catalogue of Mayfly.

Thanks again cheersbar

Thanks Ian, I'll print that off and show it to my Dad, he'll be very interested. He is having a think about it, as he hired a number of yachts over this period. I do have memories of me pushing the yacht along in a dinghy with an outboard. Happy days. If my dad can come up with any other related photos I'll certainly post them. Might take a week or two though before I see him next.
